Jind girl death: AIIMS too refutes rape, murder in third autopsy

The AIIMS submitted to concur with the report of the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak, which had found that the girl had died due to consumption of Celphos tablets and she was not raped.
A controversy had erupted over the mysterious death of a 20-year-old girl in Jind town after she had disappeared from the town on August 24, when she had come to the town from her Baniya Khera village to take a re-appear exam.
Suspecting murder and rape, the victim's kin refused to accept the autopsy report of the Jind civil hospital, which ruled out rape and murder. On the request of the victim's kin, another post-mortem was conducted at the PGIMS, which, too, ruled out rape and murder.
Unrelenting protesters accompanied by members of a Dalit organisation pressurised the district administration to order a third post-mortem on the victim at the AIIMS.
Taking cognisance of media reports, state women commission and National Commission for Scheduled Castes has sought the status report of the case from the Jind district administration.
At AIIMS, a five-team doctor, headed by Dr Sudhir Gupta, had conducted the autopsy, the report of which was handed over to the Haryana Police.
The report stated that the victim's vaginal swab reported negative for presence of semen on the body, viscera report found presence of Celphos, which hinted at a suicide, histopothology report appeared negative and biological stain ruled out any human bite marks.
Meanwhile, the SIT, headed by Hisar superintendent of police (SP) Satish Balan had started investigating the case.
