JK court awards death sentence to Hizb terrorist for massacre

A court in Jammu on Thursday awarded death sentence to a Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Pir Panchal Regiment (HMPPR) terrorist for killing ten people in Rajouri district four years ago.

A court in Jammu on Thursday awarded death sentence to a Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Pir Panchal Regiment (HMPPR) terrorist for killing ten people in Rajouri district four years ago.

The district and session judge Subash Gupta pronounced death sentence to Hizb terrorist Mohmmad Taj alais Mohmmad Younis, code name Amir Khan, for killing five members of a Hindu family at Dhara-Rajnagar village of Bhudal belt in Rajouri.

Led by Deputy Divisional Commander of HMPPR Sangat Pathan alias Abu Hamza and Younis, a group of five terrorists entered the house of one Munshi Ram and killed him along with his two sons, uncle and a nephew by slitting their throats on October 10, 2005.

Later the group trekked to another village Gabber in the district and killed 4 others - Kartar Singh and his three sons -- Gurdeep Singh, Punjab Singh and Kashmir Singh -- besides their neighbour Sathi Singh on the same night.
