JK Institute to host international meet

ALLAHABAD UNIVERSITY'S JK Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology will play host to a congregation of renowned technocrats and IT experts from across the globe for an international conference on ?Next Generation Communication System? that will kick-off on December 9 this year. The three-day conference is part of a series of events being organised by the institution to mark the completion of 50 years of its existence.

ALLAHABAD UNIVERSITY'S JK Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology will play host to a congregation of renowned technocrats and IT experts from across the globe for an international conference on ‘Next Generation Communication System’ that will kick-off on December 9 this year. The three-day conference is part of a series of events being organised by the institution to mark the completion of 50 years of its existence.

The international conference will focus on the issue of developing the next generation communication system.

Co-convener of the conference, Prof Rajeev Tripathi of Electronics Department of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), said, "Integration of independently developed communication networks/systems with global mobility is the objective of the next generation communication system. The international conference aims to stimulate a highly interactive environment and will provide a forum to exchange ideas and techniques."

Prof Rajeev Tripathi informed that high-level interactions on issues like satellite communication, Antenna arrays and 4th generation wireless mobile networks may lead to collaborations between the multinationals existing or likely to enter Indian market as many representatives from multinational companies will participate in the conference to explore the expertise and potential.

Convener of the conference, Prof Nar Singh said that the second alumni meet too is scheduled to be held in March which will be attended by noted alumni of the institution including Dr Taqwi from NASA, USA's CS Mishra, Rakesh Chopra, Rajiv Kumar. "We will take the opportunity to promote the conference and also invite the alumni to participate in the conference," he added.

Delegates are also expected from the countries like UK, Canada and Singapore.

Meanwhile, a technical advisory committee has been formed to look after the organisation of the conference. Members of the committee include Prof CA Hobson of Liverpool University, UK, Prof DM Harey and Prof AS Paulraj of Stanford University USA, Prof J Franz of Germany, Prof AB Samaddar, Director MNNIT, Rajeev Sinha and Vinod Saxena of USA besides others. A souvenir containing information about the alumni and their achievements will also be published on the occasion.
