"Public are advised not to fall prey to the rumour mongering going on in Jammu. They should defeat anti-social and anti-national elements who trigger rumours," Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Ashok Kumar Gupta said at a meeting of the civil society committee in Jammu.

He asked the public to inform at nearest police stations or police posts in case of rumours or suspicious movement in their respective areas.

The police also appealed to the people to maintain peace and brotherhood in their localities, support them in case of any eventuality and cooperate with them in maintaining law and order in the region.
