THE BHIND and Itawah (UP) police are conducting a joint search of the remaining members of Jagjivan Parihar gang after the recent encounter in Madhya Pradesh.
The senior police officers also visited the place of encounter. Six members of dacoit Parihar gang were killed in an encounter, including Ram Singh who carried a reward of Rs 50,000 and Prahlad with a reward of Rs 10,000.
Four hostages were also rescued in the encounter and a large quantity of weapons was recovered. The DIG Chambal, A P Singh, DIG Kanpur Daljeet Singh Choudhary and IG Kanpur Rizwan Ahmad visited the place of encounter.
The postmortem of the killed dacoits was conducted in Bhind while the Itawah police took away the weapons and the freed hostages with them.
The villagers of Jauri Ka Pura situated near the place of encounter are afraid of severe reprisal from Parihar gang. But A P Singh allayed such fears and assured that the police would provide protection to them.
Despite the joint search, the Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh police could find no clue of the dacoits. The Morena police have meanwhile alerted the Mahua, Ambah, Porsa and Dimni police stations of the possibility of Parihar visiting Haricha village under Andori police station situated under Bhind where the relatives of the dacoits live.
