Renowned painters from different parts of the country will stay at AU during the camp and deliberate and demonstrate the emerging trends and changing facets of the art world to the young painters.
"We are planning the camp in such a way that the young students still trying to improve their painting skills learn new techniques and styles from the masters and see them weave their magic on the canvas first hand," said well-known painter and convenor of Kala Kumbh Dr Ajay Jaitley.
Dr Jaitley said that it would be a unique opportunity for the young to come out of classrooms and routine and understand the depth and effort that go in creating a piece that later enthrall the world and earn applauds.
He said senior painters expected to attend the camp include Hemant Dwivedi from Udaipur, Ramviranjan from Haryana, Gita Das from Delhi, Sushma Agarwal, Rajendra Karan, Rajiv Nayan and Mohd Shakeel from Lucknow besides Sudhakar Yadav from Mumbai and Ram Shabad Singh from Saharanpur to name just a few.
"The All India Artists' Camp would be inaugurated by renowned artist and a Guinness Book record holder Sanat Kumar Chatterjee from Shimla," he added.
Dr Jaitley said that in the discussions, besides these senior artists, a number of senior journalists, including Gita Shree, Pradeep Saurabh and Jyotish Joshi will also participate.
He said that as a run up to the Kala Kumbh, a number of workshops too have been planned by the varsity.
"A craft workshop will begin on Friday and continue till December 15 while another workshop on folk arts will be held between December 8 and December 15. An installation workshop will also be held from December 15 to December 20 through which new technique of using three dimensional objects, using light, sound and open space will be explained to the students and worked upon," he added.
