Kalam asks students to make India developed nation by 2020

Former President A P J Abdul Kalam today said that all students should work towards making India a developed nation by the year 2020.

Former President A P J Abdul Kalam today said that all students should work towards making India a developed nation by the year 2020.

Kalam, who was speaking at the convocation function of Nirma University here, said that every student should individually participate in district level development programmes. This, he said, was necessary for the holistic development of the country.

He also asked students to make the most out of the opportunities that they get.

Kalam awarded 61 students for scholastic performance and gave away diplomas and degrees to 1,251 students of the university.

Founder and president of University Karsanbhai Patel said that it was important to apply education for betterment of self, community and country.

On the occasion director general of Nirma University Dr N V Vasani announced setting up a Centre of Excellence at the cost of Rs 20 crore which will help the students expand their horizons.
