“ The BJP believes in social justice. That is why it has favoured the recommendations of the Mandal Commission for reservation to the SC, ST and economically weaker sections of the society. But reservation in higher education needs serious thinking from cross-sections of the society. The party will also take up the issue in Parliament” he said.
Talking to mediapersons here on Sunday, Mishra expressed his anguish over the deteriorating law and order scenario in Uttar Pradesh and demanded the dismissal of the SP-led State government by the President.
“ The ISI network and infiltration of Bangladeshis have adversely affected the entire Uttar Pradesh. Apart from eastern UP, several districts of west UP such as Moradabad, Hapur, Meerut, Saharanpur, Bijnaur and Muzaffarnagar are also badly affected by terrorist networking of the ISI. The growing incidents of terrorism have caused a serious threat to the internal security of the state,” he said.
Suspecting the hand of terrorists in the mysterious fire at Victoria Park in Meerut recently, he demanded a thorough inquiry to look into the causes of the fire, which claimed several lives. He expressed surprise at the Congress not dismissing the State government despite the spurt in terrorist and criminal activities. The Maoist influenced Naxalite menace was strengthening its roots on the bordering districts of UP, he said.
Expressing concern over the infiltration of Bangladeshi nationals into India, he said about 6,000 such infiltrators had been coming to India daily from the north-east.. The BJP had made it an election issue in the assembly elections of five states. But the Centre was hesitating in initiating any harsh measures.
In response to a query about the possible election alliance between the BJP and the BSP in the coming assembly elections in UP, he denied such a possibility.
Commenting on the organisational structure of the BJP in UP in view of the coming assembly polls, he said the pace of election preparations was slow and after the conclusion of ‘ Bharat Suraksha Yatra’ of the BJP, the preparations at each assembly segement level would be accelerated.
