Senior journalist Kantilal Narayandas Gujarati died in Nashik following prolonged illness, family sources said on wednesday.

Gujarati, who was suffering from asthama for a long time breathed his last at his residence in Manmad on Tuesday, they said.

He was 78.

Gujarati, who earlier served as a senior reporter for Gavakari, a daily has been in the field of journalism for more than 50 years.

The scribe is survived by wife, three daughters and a son.
