Former Indian skipper and coach Kapil Devon Fridaysaid he was impressed with young Baroda seamer Irfan Pathan's bowling Down Under.
Kapil Dev, who is the Max brand ambassador and was in town to interact with Saint Stanislaus High School students, told PTI on the sidelines that the India's young brigade are doing a very good job in Australia.
"I think the youngsters like Irfan Pathan, Laxmipathy Balaji, Murali Kartik, Rohan Gavaskar and Yuvraj Singh have really shown lot of maturity while playing against the number one team in the world", he added.
"I was particularly impressed with the way Pathan has shaped up after the Indians lost Zaheer Khan and then Ajit Agarkar due to injuries. All in all, it is a very impressive display by the Indians and I hope they will continue to do well", the Haryana Hurricane said.
When asked about what he thought of the proposed Indo-Pak series to be called Imran-Kapil Trophy, Kapil Dev, replied in the negative.
"No one has told me about such a proposal and I have only read about it in newspapers. So let us wait and see and if at all such a proposal comes through then I should consider it a big honour", the former all-rounder said.
The legendary allrounder is interacting and playing cricket with students of about 20 top schools all over the country as the countdown to the ICC under-19 World Cup 2004 to be held in Bangladesh from next month.
