Eshwarappa's sent his resignation to party president Rajnath Singh within hours of the urban civic body polls. The deputy CM said he wanted to abide by the one-person-one-post concept, which he had not been able to follow because of fluid political developments.

"There was no pressure on me to resign." Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley, who is expected in Bangalore on Friday, may discuss the leadership issue.
