A case has been registered against him, police said.

Opposition Congress, JDS and CPI(M) had lodged a complaint against Nandakumar alleging that he was canvassing for Sadananda Gowda, BJP state president and candidate for the Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha seat.

Opposition parties held a dharna demanding action against the official on Sunday.
