The police said the victim's husband, who was in custody after a complaint by the woman's parents, has been booked for murder.

The victim, a mother of two small children, who was living with her husband, Ghulam Mohiuddin Rathur, for the past seven years in Budgam district breathed her last at Srinagar's Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital after seven days in coma.

"The lady had received burn injuries on January 27 at her home. Her parents alleged that she was burnt by her in-laws," said a police spokesperson.
