Bharti, sister of main accused Vikas Yadav, said that since she had been pursuing her studies in the UK, it would not be possible to come to India for recording her testimony through personal appearance.

Daughter of former Rajya Sabha MP DP Yadav, she has not given her testimony in the case so far and the trial court has on more than one occasion issued non-bailable warrant against her.

Earlier also she had offered to depose through video-conferencing but the High Court rejected her plea.

Prosecution has alleged that Katara, a business executive, was kidnapped from a marriage party in Ghaziabad on February 17-18, 2002 and was later found murdered.

It also alleged that he was murdered as the accused did not like Katara's intimacy with Bharati. All the prosecution witnesses have been examined and only Bharati's testimony remains.
