Oscar winning actress Kate Winslet wants to turn her back on Hollywood for a while because she's "sick" of life in the spotlight.

The Titanic star feels overexposed after winning an Oscar earlier this year for her role in The Reader and receiving critical acclaim for her performance in Revolutionary Road.

She is so desperate to take a back seat from mainstream movies that now she is eyeing a stage role in a musical, reports contactmusic.com.

"I think I have to take time off. I'm sick of me and I'm sure everybody else is too," she said.

"But I would love to do some theatre. It would be a good challenge. I need to keep scaring myself. And that would sufficiently scare me. Maybe a musical or something completely different," she added.
