Apart from the kings and warriors, the play depicts the Bhils of Rajasthan, Malwa and Nimar region, who had also taken part in India’s freedom movement.

Among the different names that were associated with the struggle and who fought valiantly against the British was a poor and illiterate person Tantya. The play is interspersed with both historical facts and some hypothetical situations.

It also makes an attempt to capture the folk features of Malwa, Rajasthan and Nimar. Pravin Mahuvale as Tantya has shown good acting skills. The music by Anjana Puri is folk flavoured and resonating.

Today’s play
Raju Barot’s Meghari would be staged on Wednesday
