The Oscar-winning actor spilled the beans on her relationshp with the country music star at a UN event.

Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman is engaged to marry country music star Keith Urban, People magazine reported.

The ex-wife of actor Tom Cruise revealed the news while discussing the couple's joint appearance over the weekend at a gala for UNIFEM, the UN Development Fund for Women, reports the magazine.

"He's actually my fiance," Kidman told People. "I wouldn't be bringing my boyfriend."

The comments end months of speculation about the couple's relationship, which was first reported in July 2005.

The tongue-wagging increased when Kidman was seen in November sporting a big diamond ring.

The Australian native Kidman, 38, won the Academy Award for best actress for her role in the 2002 film, The Hours.

She was married to Tom Cruise for 10 years. The couple have two adopted children and divorced in 2001.

Urban, 38, was born in New Zealand and grew up in Australia.

He won a Grammy in 2005 for best male country vocal performance on the song You'll Think of Me.
