Kherawala takes over as CBDT chief

MH Kherawala, a senior Indian Revenue Service officer, on Sunday took over as chairperson of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
Kherawala, who belonged to the 1969 batch, succeeded MS Darda who retired on Saturday.
Prior to her appointment, Kherawala was member (Legislation) in the CBDT, an official release said.
She is heading a panel on simplification of tax laws, it added.
