KNPGMI staff continue hunger strike

EMPLOYEES OF Kamla Nehru Post Graduate Medical Institute (KNPGMI) continued their indefinite hunger strike on the second day on Monday in support of their demand to check the move to delink the institute from Allahabad University (AU).

EMPLOYEES OF Kamla Nehru Post Graduate Medical Institute (KNPGMI) continued their indefinite hunger strike on the second day on Monday in support of their demand to check the move to delink the institute from Allahabad University (AU).

The employees declared they would continue the hunger strike until MP Rahul Gandhi intervened.

The employees met at the venue of the strike. The meeting was attended by several student and employee union leaders. Former MLA Anugrah Narayan Singh and Communist Party leader Harish Chandra Dwivedi charged the Executive Council for adopting double standards over the affiliation of Harish Chandra Research Institute and KNPGMI. They said KNT secretary Inder Khosla had been contemplating to delink KNPGMI from AU. AU student union general secretary Suresh Yadav and Pratiyogi Chatra Morcha (PCM) president Rajesh Singh warned the AU administration on the issue and declared to support the employees.

Allahabad University & Colleges Karmachari Union (AUCKU) president Kanan Dasgupta charged KNPGMI secretary for economic exploitation of the employees.
