Kolar Municipality to have separate master plan

MINISTER FOR Urban Administration and Development Jayant Malaiya on Monday announced a separate master plan would be prepared for areas included under the Kolar Municipality. Malaiya also announced financial help of Rs 50 lakh for this newly constituted Kolar Municipality.
The Urban Development Minister made this announcement during the inauguration of the office of newly constituted non-official administrative body for the Kolar Municipality. This body will work until the elections for Kolar Municipality. Minister for Commerce and Industries Babulal Gaur was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Malaiya said urban bodies should be self-sufficient so that they could carry out various developmental works in their respective areas. He announced financial help of Rs 40 lakh to the Kolar Municipality. However, on a request from Gaur this amount was later increased to Rs 50 lakh.
He said Kolar Municipality was a part of the State Capital and would be looked after like Bhopal. He hoped the Kolar Municipality would be an ideal local body within the next two years. He also said financial help for infrastructure development of Kolar Municipality area would be made under the Union Government’s Urban Infrastructure Development for Small and Medium Towns.
Under this scheme, Union Government provides 80 per cent financial help of total scheme cost. Malaiya also said the Capital Project Administration (CPA) was already carrying out developmental works worth Rs five crore on Kolar Road.
In his address, Minister for Commerce and Industries Babulal Gaur said certain people tried to create hindrances in the constitution of municipality for Kolar road. He said while village panchayats were not able to carry out developmental as per the requirement of the area Bhopal Municipal Corporation too was not allowed to include this area into its limit. In this situation, there was need to constitute the municipality for Kolar, he added.
BJP leaders Krishna Gaur,Bhagirath Patidar and Suraj Singh Maran also addressed gathering. District Collector S K Mishra and members of non-official administrative committee for Kolar Municipality were also present on the occasion.
