FOREST AND Transport Minister and minister in-charge of the district Himmat Kothari flagged off the krashi rath yatra from Gandhi Hall on Thursday morning.
The two chariots, which are part of the yatra, will visit about 250 villages in the next 34 days to inform farmers about the welfare schemes and the steps taken to redress their grievances.
Agriculture Deputy Director Vijay Agrawal said that the yatra would conclude on January 18. Similarly, a kisan rath yatra will also be organised to inform farmers about the modern agricultural techniques.
Besides, farmers’ meetings will be organised in villages, which fall along the yatra route. The farmers will be informed about various schemes launched by irrigation, fisheries, dairy, animal husbandry, horticulture and co-operative departments.
The minister also inaugurated a two-day exhibition at Gandhi Hall to mark three years of BJP rule in the State. The photo and poster exhibition depicted the achievements of the State government during the last three years.
