Father of the White Revolution in India, Dr Varghese Kurien, is expected to resign from the Chairmanship of the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) on Monday.

Kurien is expected to officially announce his resignation in Mumbai later in the day, sources close to him informed.

The 84-year-old Kurien has been facing stiff opposition from IRMA board members to quit the Chairmanship since the past one year.

In March this year, Kurien was forced to quit from the Chairmanship of Gujarat Milk Marketing Federation (GCCMF) after the board members decided to oust him from his post.
