L.B. Shastri lose but Ishant still a star

MALVIYA CLUB registered another win, beating L.B.Shastri by four wickets in a match played under lights, in the Lala Raghubir Singh cricket tournament here on Saturday.

But even if his team had a bad day in the office —Ishant Sharma—representing LB Shastri, stole the limelight. Playing his first T20 after the IPL, Ishant took three wickets in the three overs he bowled giving away 11 runs. Not only did his presence boost the confidence of his team, but also made the opposition think twice before going after him. “Ishant has won despite our team losing,” said Sanjay Bharadwaj, LB Shastri's coach.

Batting first, LB Shastri posted 153 for six, which was built on Rajinder Bisht's 72 off 56 balls. But it all went in vain as the team could not pick the wickets when it was required the most and the opposition achieved the target with ease. For Malviya, Pankaj Thakur and Satender Yadav scored 46* and 42 respectively.
