Lataji, I beg to differ

Some of Lataji's comments are unjustified. We do have a pool of new music directors and singers who have sung some really nice songs. The songs of today can never be classic and yes it is true that the new songs last only for a short span. But in spite of the pop songs we also have Parineeta, Lagaan and Devdas and the likes that seek to balance the new with the old.

It is also true that some of them feature boys and girls in skimpy clothes but then we have a new set of youth and show business must cater to the tastes of the new generation.

In spite of the pop songs we also have Parineeta and the likes that seek to balance the new with the old. We have a variety of songs. We have new music directors and singers who are delivering many gems in spite of some chutney or masala songs.

So all is not that as bad as Lataji laments. So if she desires can sing songs such as the ones in Lagaan or Parineeta or the new Devdas to name a few and stop lamenting.
