Lawyers celebrate BJP's poll victory

A large number of lawyers on Saturday celebrated the landslide victory registered by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Parliamentary elections, the results of which were declared on Friday.

Led by advocate Parimoksh Seth, member of the National Legal Committee, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the BJP, hundreds of lawyers assembled at the district court complex in Janipur here and distributed sweets among lawyers and litigants.

The lawyers congratulated Narendra Modi, the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, for the landslide victory, wherein the NDA got more than 335 seats, where as the BJP on its own, for the first time, got the majority by winning 282 seats.

The lawyers also congratulated Jugal Kishore Sharma, Jitendra Singh, Thupstan Cheewang for winning from Jammu, Poonch, Udhampur-Doda-Kathua and Ladakh seats, respectively.

Addressing the lawyers, Seth said it was a historic moment as the Modi-led NDA got thumping majority in the Lok Sabha.
