Lawyers demand Meja tehsildar?s suspension
Demonstrating unity, lawyers of district court, Allahabad, along with lawyers belonging to different tehsils, took out a procession from the district court to the collectorate. They were demanding suspension of tehsildar, Meja, who, according to them, had lodged some fake cases against some lawyers of Meja.

Later, the District Court Bar Association passed a resolution that lawyers would abstain from work on Wednesday in support of their demand.
Earlier, the lawyers led by the president of the District Bar, Vinod Chandra Dubey, assembled at Mukhtarkhana at the district court. They took out a procession from Mukhtarkhana, which converted into a dharna at the collectorate.
In their speech, both president and secretary of District Bar, Vinod Chandra Dubey and Sheetla Prasad Mishra, demanded suspension of Meja tehsildar within 48 hours.
Several lawyers belonging to tehsils of Allahabad district also addressed the meeting reiterating the same demand.
Advocates’ behaviour criticised: UP State Employees’ Confederation has criticised the unruly behaviour of advocates of Meja with Girish Chandra Srivastava, tehsildar Meja on August 21. In a meeting held on Tuesday, the members demanded the DM to order unbiased probe into the matter.
They asked for immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the case. They further threatened of staging strike in the entire district in case the matter was not sorted out immediately.
