Left parties to write to PM on Iran nuke issue

Left parties will write to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the Iran nuclear issue.

Left parties on Friday decided to write to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking him that India should not vote in favour of any proposal leading to referring the Iran nuclear issue to the UN Security Council.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of Left parties, attended among others by CPM General Secretary Prakash Karat and CPI General Secretary AB Bardhan.

The meeting also decided to oppose FDI in retail sector and take up the issue with the Government.
