Delivering the valedictory address of 4th refresher course on law at UGC-Academic Staff College in Banaras Hindu University here on Friday, Dr Chaturvedi said, “better coordination and understanding among the law schools and the lawyers/judges as well as other professionals is the roadmap of legal education in 21st century.”
He said, “The discipline of law has gained a position of pride not only in our country but abroad also. In the 21st century, information and communication technology applications promise easier access to public services and good governance.” “Effective legal reform promotes opportunity, security and empowerment of world’s poor,” he added. “Legal education has also been benefited with the greater use of information technology. Take for example the Intellectual Property Rights. Intellectual Property Rights are increasingly becoming significant elements of economic policy,” he stated.
Dean of law faculty in BHU, Prof MNP Srivastava presided over the valedictory session whereas director of UGC-Academic Staff College, Prof Kumar Pankaj delivered the welcome address. Dr. AK Pandey conducted the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
