The legislator sent his resignation letter to the House chairman, Shivajirao Deshmukh through the district collector of Amravati on Tuesday.

Deshmukh said the state minister for Higher Education, Rajesh Tope and his secretariat are not acting as per the assurances given to the upper house on the pay revision of university and college teachers.

“The state government had assured on the floor of the House of implementing the pay revision scheme for university and college teachers. But, the government is insisting to hike the salary as per the 6th pay commission recommendations,” he said.
