We must let professionals into the system and make changes in our system of promotions and transfers. Many posts are currently accompanied by fleets of yes-men and reserved for people with ties and influence, rather than the hard-working meritorious candidates who put their sweat and blood into qualifying for these posts.

Over 60 years after Independence, India has still not made the government people-friendly, as it is in nations like the UK and US.
