A live bomb carrying black gun powder and nearly 80 pellets was found from the Lahedara Naka area under Moti Nagar Police Station, police said today.

The bomb was found yesterday and later defused by the bomb disposal squad which found 48 gram black gun powder, nearly 80 pellets and a timer attached to it, police said.

The explosive and pellets were packed in a GI pipe (iron pipe) and its both ends were sealed with iron caps, police said adding the bomb has been sent to the State Forensic Sciences Laboratory (FSL) here for examination.

A case has been registered against unidentified persons with Moti Nagar Police Station in this regard, police said adding further probe was on.

FSL scientist VS Chouhan told PTI that it was a crude bomb and was capable of causing damage in an area of 10-15 meters.
