Lo and behold!
All seats will get filled up in the first two lists and the difference of percentage between lists will be negligible

Lo and behold! The cut-offs! It’s like someone took buckets of hot water on a sweltering summer afternoon and threw it at us. Yes, the cut-offs have been very disheartening. Even though BCom does not concern me, but when you hear that the cut-offs for BCom at SRCC have come out to a perfect 100%, you can’t help but question your own fate.
Luckily for me, I’ve got a pretty good CATE score and I shouldn't really complain - but it’s important to have a complete insight into what we’re getting into. Having gone to a few colleges in North Campus and having asked a number of authorities, I will say that the increased number of cut-off lists does not make up for the stratospheric cut-offs themselves since they claim that all seats will be filled up in the first two lists and the difference of percentage between lists will be negligible. I almost feel pity for the candidates applying next year. God be with them.
On a lighter note, it’s sometimes nice to hear the chatter this semi-adversity has caused; the jokes, the suggestions, the spontaneous alternatives people think of (‘Hey I’ve got 92%? Is the correspondence option any good ?’). Look up and brave the harshness - some things can only get so bad. You have every right to worry, but not necessarily the reason. There are far worse things in life lined up for us. Hell, one day you might look back and joke about this.
