Tribunal chairman, Justice (rtd) Shambhu Nath Srivastav today told reporters that he has been informed that FIR and a
case under IPC 302 have been registered against all the personnel present in the Gadarpur police station at the time
of the alleged suicide by Gopal Mandal.

Investigations were on into the incident of Udhamsingh Nagar in December, 2007, he added.
Justice Srivastav said the tribunal did not find the suicide story "credible" and had directed authorities to
register cases against the personnel.

While police was claiming that the accused committed suicide by hanging himself from a 10-feet high window wrapping
his trouser around neck, Mandal's family had alleged that he was badly beaten up by the police leading to his death.
