in Tamil Nadu by quashing a government order suspending its release.

Allowing petitions filed by film distributors Sony Pictures Releasing of India Ltd, Mumbai and Anuroshi Films, Chennai, Justice Prabha Sridevan directed the City Police Commissioner to pay Sony Pictures a sum of Rs 15,000.

The state government in its May-31 order had said, "The screening of the film may lead to demonstrations and disturb the peace and tranquillity in the state," and suspended exhibition of the film, which was slated to be released in the state on June 2.
