While two bombs were detected before the meeting began on Tuesday night at Jaihindpuram, the other set was found after the function. None of them exploded, police said.

Earlier on Sunday, crude bombs had been hurled at the offices of Tamil Nadu minister Sellur K Raju and the AIADMK in two separate incidents. No one was injured in the incident.

Raju had then blamed his political opponents for hurling of bombs. Tuesday’s meeting was organised by Raju, who is representing Madurai West in the assembly.
