The session would conclude on March 19 and state budget in the form of vote on account would be presented on March 17.

The duration of the session is being curtailed in view of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections and model code of conduct, an official said.

Meanwhile, the opposition in Maharashtra legislature on Sunday boycotted from the customary tea party hosted by Chief Minister Ashok Chavan before the session.

Speaking to reporters here, Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Assembly Ramdas Kadam said, "We have written many letters to the CM asking his appointment but he has not given us time." Kadam cited this as the reason for boycotting the tea party.

Terming the Government as 'inactive', he said it has failed on all fronts on issues such as farmers' suicides, power crisis and law and order situation in the state.
