Police said the victim, who hails from Gumla in Jharkhand had been placed by an agency — Sonia Enterprises, Shakarpur, Delhi — at the Sector 21A house of Praveen Gupta on September 21.
She was promised a salary of Rs. 4,000 per month.
But, in her complaint to the police, the victim said within days of her joining the service, Gupta started sexually assaulting her.
He threatened her of dire consequences if she would tell anybody about it.
After being raped by Gupta over several days, the victim narrated her travails to Gupta's wife. She took her to her relatives place in Delhi's Civil Lines and some family members called the police.
A Delhi police team accomapanied the victim to Faridabad NIT police station, where an FIR was registered on Monday.
"The maid has leveled allegations of sexual assault against her employer which we are investigating," said Romesh Pal, assistant commissioner of police, NIT.
Gupta is untraceable.
The case comes at a time when there has been a sudden spurt in cases of rape reported from Haryana. The state has seen 12 cases of rape in the past 28 days.
