Twentyfour fire tenders fought for nearly six hours to put out the blaze at the Joy Alukkas Wedding Centre at the Marine Drive, fire force department sources said.

According to initial reports, there were no casualties in the fire that broke out in the engine room in the ground floor at 1 am and spread to the five floors.

The blaze could be controlled at around 6 a.m but smoke was still coming out of the fifth floor, the sources said.
