Mamata's brother denies assaulting zoo staffer
Police complaints have been lodged against the younger brother of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee for beating up a security guard of Alipore Zoo on Monday evening.
Kartik Banerjee, the younger brother of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, on Tuesday denied he had beat up up a security guard at the Alipore Zoo in Kolkata.

"I did not visit the area in the past two months. I was not even aware that Didi (Mamata Banerjee) was going there (Alipur zoo)," he told HT after media reports on him. "If needed I am willing to face a CBI investigation leave alone police. All this is a dirty conspiracy against me by some anti-socials who run the show at the zoo."
Zoo guard, Mohammad Amir, had refused Trinamool supporters' entry to the zoo without tickets when the chief minister went there to inaugurate a newly built reptile house on Monday. Rakesh Singh, president of Alipore Zoological Garden Employees' Union, said Amir was assaulted over his action by Trinamool supporters.
