A man has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle gold worth over Rs one crore at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in New Delhi.
The accuse was intercepted by customs officials after his arrival from Vishakhapatnam on Sunday.
“On detailed examination of his baggage and personal search, 16 cut pieces of gold bars total weighing 4 kg with total market value of Rs 1.04 crore were recovered. The gold bars were concealed inside his hand baggage,” a press release issued by the customs said.
The passenger, who hails from Mumbai, was arrested and the gold bars were seized, it said
