A 27-year-old man was allegedly battered to death by the kin of a girl, who had eloped with victim's friend a week ago, here at railway track near Kaccha Beri road on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Deepak Kumar, a resident of Gurunanakpura locality of the town.
As per details, Deepak who used to run a garment shop in the town, had been receiving life threats from the kin of a college girl, who had eloped with his friend Amit Kumar, a resident of Bainsi village.
His fault was that he had provided his friend Amit his ID proof to procure a SIM card. Today, he was found seriously injured on the railway track and was rushed to a government hospital, hwere he was declared dead by the doctors.
Deepak's friend Amit had eloped with a girl about a week ago. When the girl's kin enquired, they came to know that Amit was using a SIM issued in the name of Deepak.
Victim's parents said that girl's kin had barged into their home three days ago and threatened of dire consequences if Deepak didn't reveal the whereabouts of Amit and the girl.
To avoid girl's kin, Deepak on Saturday hid himself at his sister's place in Indira colony, and on Sunday morning, he had gone out to settle the issue with the girl's kin.
Victim's family members and relatives blocked the road at Gohana Adda, demanding arrest of the killers.
Police said that they were investigating the case and picture would be clear after the post mortem on Monday.
