Man gets 5-yr RI for raping minor
A local court at Gobichettipalayam in the district awarded five years rigorous imprisonment to a 26-year-old man on charges of raping a minor girl after kidnapping her two years ago.

A local court at Gobichettipalayam in the district awarded five years rigorous imprisonment to a 26-year-old man on charges of raping a minor girl after kidnapping her two years ago.
According to prosecution, the lorry driver kidnapped and raped the girl on April 8, 2009 after promising to marry her.
Following a complaint from her father, police traced the two in Thanjavur district later.
He was charged under various sections of IPC including kidnap and rape.
The Subordinate Judge Vasantha Leela awarded him five years rigorous imprisonment on Friday.
