Man injured in suspected grenade explosion in Kashmir

A 27-year-old man was injured on Monday in an explosion in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, police said.

Reyaz Ahmad Khan is believed to have found a grenade near a stream at Diver in Kupwara district this morning, a police official said.

When Khan started fiddling with the object, it went off, injuring him, the official said.

He said the injured person was first taken to Kupwara district hospital from where he was referred to a hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
