A man killed his 13-month-old daughter by hanging her from a steel bar and then committed suicide on Friday night in Kotri area of the city, the police said.

The police said Deepak Koli, 28, and the girl, Tanu, were found hanging from the ceiling of a room in their home by Deepak’s father Babulal Koli on Saturday morning.
Preliminary investigation reveals Deepak’s wife Anita had gone to her parents’ house with Tanu after a fight. Last evevening, Deepak went to bring her back but she refused to come along, said circle officer Gumanpura Police Station Sanjay Sharma. The couple had got married two years ago.
Disappointed, Deepak brought Tanu home and killed her. He then hung himself, the officer said. After post mortem, their bodies were handed over to the family.
