Man robbed in Ekant Park

A MIDDLE-aged man was robbed at knifepoint in the Ekant Park under the Habibganj police station area on Sunday morning. The incident occurred barely twelve hours after a BJP leader was robbed on the Link Road No. 1 in New Bhopal.

A MIDDLE-aged man was robbed at knifepoint in the Ekant Park under the Habibganj police station area on Sunday morning. The incident occurred barely twelve hours after a BJP leader was robbed on the Link Road No. 1 in New Bhopal.

Police said the complainant, Kishan Verma, 45, a resident of Amaltas Phase-III at Chuna Bhatti, was robbed when he had gone to the park today morning. Two unidentified youths waylaid him at knifepoint and took away his cell phone and Rs 100 cash before fleeing on a motorcycle that was parked outside the park. As the victim had gone for the morning walk he had not carried much cash.

Verma is reportedly an officer with the Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojana. The robbers were in the age group 20-22 years and one of them was wearing a blue shirt and trousers and the other was wearing a white shirt.

One of the looters was tall and the other of medium height. Both were dark complexioned. The Habibganj police registered a case of robbery under the Section 392 of the IPC and launched a hunt for the accused on the basis of their appearance described by the complainant.

The hunt is also on for the robbers who relieved a BJP leader of cash and cell phone on the Link Road
