Man, woman found hanging from tree in Haryana; honour killing suspected

In a suspected case of honour killing, bodies of a young couple were found hanging from a tree in Adhmi village of Panipat’s Sambhalkha sub-division.

In a suspected case of honour killing, bodies of a young couple were found hanging from a tree in Adhmi village of Panipat’s Samalkha sub-division.

The bodies were spotted by visitors. The deceased have been identifies as Naseem (25) and Kusum (18), both residents of the same village.

The bodies have been sent for the postmortem.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Panipat SP Rahul Sharma said that the bodies were found hanging from a tree. Both belonged to different religions. Naseem was married and also had a child. The woman was unmarried and she had recently passed Class 12.

Sharma said police security has been beefed up in the village and further investigation was being conducted.

Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Sambhalkha Gorkhpal Singh said, “Nobody filed any police complaint but we have registered a complaint under 174 CrPc”

But the investigation was still going on and bodies had been handed over to the families after the postmortem, he added.
