The decapitated body of 35-year-old Ravi Oram was found Wednesday night in a forest near his home in Renjra village in Rourkela district, about 600 from in Bhubaneswar.

At least 20 to 25 masked men had abducted him on Tuesday.

"It was the handiwork of Maoists," Superintendent of Police SK Bala told IANS.

Over a dozen masked gunmen had attacked the house of Bharatiya Janata Party national vice president Jual Oram at Kendudhi village in the same district on Feb 22. The culprits escaped when hundreds of villagers rushed to the spot.
