An Indian ex-serviceman of Gurkha Rifles was killed by maoists in Western Nepal, informed the Indian Embassy.
An Indian ex-serviceman of Gurkha Rifles Capt. Dev Bahadur Hamal was killed by maoists in Western Nepal, Indian Embassy said today.
The incident occured in Gijyan village in Parvat district on May 3, the embassy said in a release.
Captain Hamal had served the 3rd Mechanised Infantry, 1/8 Gurkha Rifles and also participated in three wars and numerous counter-insurgency operations, the release said.
Expressing anguish over the death of Hamal, the Embassy said the officer has done exemplary community service after retirement and refused to be cowed down by the Maoist threats.
