Suspected Maoists shot dead two constables on Tuesday afternoon near Pamed police station in Bijapur district, south Bastar.

According to Bijapur district superintendent of police, Rajendra Dash the two policemen had gone to offer puja in the temple located near Pamed thana where the Maoists fired at them killing them on the spot.
The constables, Ritesh Jha and Rajendra Prasad, were in uniform when they were attacked near the temple. Their bodies were air-lifted and brought to Jagdalpur by chopper.
