Boosted by compact car sales, market leader Maruti Udyog Limited on Monday reported a 12.9 per cent increase in total sales for the month of April at 43,127 units against 38,190 units in corresponding month a year ago.
The company's domestic sales in the month were up 12.4 per cent at 41,574 units against 36,972 units in April 2005.
MUL said exports grew 27.5 per cent at 1,553 units during the month as against 1,218 units.

Maruti's erstwhile best-selling model M800, however, saw a 16.6 per cent dip in April sales at 5,761 units compared to 6,910 units in the same month last year.
